About Us

We are recording an era of change. A time that pursues harmony in progress, responsibility in response and principle in practice. We have further come to learn that our choices are inseparable from the condition of the natural world. SEED understands that the commercialisation of natural resources carries the weight of accountability. That every step in our process is inextricably linked to outcome. Your product from SEED is the result of this era of change.

SEED invests in the commercialisation of the African Marula, and other indigenous fruits, enabling Namibia’s rural communities. By investing into the community value chains and agro-processing facilities, we enable social and economic benefits to flow to rural Namibian communities. Once the harvested fruits are sourced through fair trade and adhering to the ABS framework, beneficiation to the raw materials enable wholesale products to reach the Namibian, South African and international markets. These include various cosmetic applications, animal feed, food and beverage for human consumption, as well as various ingredients used by contract manufacturers and end user, inclusive of retail producers. By investing in the potential of a seed, we invest in the potential of an entire community.

The Founders

The founders of SEED stem from various industries that is the culmination of resources, skills, meaningful community participation and private capital. It is their goal to impact the Marula and related bioprospecting and trading value chains in a way that invests in Human Capital and the conservation of natural resources. SEED has forged mutually beneficial relationships with the rural and underprivileged communities which have contributed toward social and economic upliftment and enabled the sustainable commercialisation of the Marula and related indigenous fruits. As a result, communities benefit within their immediate society and impact on the greater surrounding areas.

The founders of SEED’s value chain units have over 20 years’ specific experience within the Marula and related industries. The company has additionally made a tremendous impact on their end product by creating and sourcing additional resources and expertise. SEED has employed resources and skills that enhance and enable the beneficiation of the Marula and related indigenous fruits. To ensure customers have the best quality product at the best price so that they may sustain their respective customer base, the company ensures a consistent supply, quality enhancement through proprietary processes and competitive pricing structures and contracting models.

SEED has adopted a model whereby product beneficiation is ploughed back into the rural and poor communities. This enables them to not only harvest the raw material, but to gain value-added products that they may further commercialise.
